Where to begin...

So I've been contemplating for a while whether I should start pushing to see where my cakes can go. I really owe the cake start up to a good friend who asked me to do her wedding cake. Of course I said "NO", there is no way, it's your wedding, I'm not a professional, what if you don't like it...I thought of every excuse. But she insisted and said she has loved my cakes from my boys and all the ones I've done for our cub scouts. Now I've made hundreds of cakes. I bake each of my boys something special at their birthday and as a cub scout mom, I've tried to come up with themes that allow me to try out new techniques so I knew this is something I had always wanted to do...a wedding cake!

SO...I agreed...and I tested...and the night before the wedding I was biting my nails. I checked the fridge every hour to see if it was still standing. And believe it or not it was beautiful, even delivering it to the venue. And there is when I realized, I LOVE THIS! I love baking, I love creating, and I love making people happy. From there it has evolved and now I am here...blogging for the first time, opening up my first website and putting it out there to start offering to make cakes. So I plan on blogging to share my story, my successes and failures in this cake making and we shall see where it goes from here. Enjoy and happy cake tasting!
